According to the Science and Technology Daily, the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) recently announced that the evolution version of China's terrestrial digital TV transmission standard (DTMB-A) has officially become the international standard for digital television.
The DTMB generation became the fourth largest standard in the world after the United States, Europe and Japan in 2011, and has been in a leading position due to its late exertion.
However, Europe's second-generation digital TV standard DCB-T2 has enhanced the error correction capability, improved spectrum efficiency, expanded the adaptation function, and quickly promoted it. It has become the biggest obstacle to the promotion of China's DTMB standard abroad.
This time, Tsinghua University and Beijing Digital TV National Engineering Laboratory jointly developed the DTMB standard evolution system DTMB-A, adhered to the complete independent intellectual property rights, invented the Gaussian 256APSK modulation method, breaking the traditional 256QAM modulation theory limit. The main performance indicators at the time of the exhibition in 2012 exceeded the European second-generation digital TV standard DVB-T2.
It is reported that DTMB-A also adapts to the needs of ultra-high-definition television broadcast transmission, and has the characteristics of large transmission capacity, high signal receiving sensitivity, strong anti-interference ability, and high-speed mobile reception.
In terms of going abroad, the Ministry of Commerce has stated that Pakistan will first adopt the DTMB-A standard.
