The car is made using traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Different parts of the wood are made of different materials, and over time, the texture of the wood changes over time.
Tencent Digital News (Compile: Zhang Xiumei) Recently, as the world's largest automaker, Toyota seems to be very keen on conceptual design and artistic creation. Before Lexus designed a concept car with a car body cut and wheels made of ice, now Toyota also said that at the Milan Design Week, which opened in April, a Setsuna concept car made of wood will be launched. This concept car may really be just a concept car, it will not be mass-produced, but as a work of art to show Toyota's car concept and craft, and in fact, Setsuna really left us deep impression.
Toyota said that the Setsuna concept car represents "the moment" in Japanese, and is the future change between the car and the human being. The different parts of the car use different materials of wood, and over time, the texture of the wood will change over time.
In addition to the all-wood body, Setsuna is also manufactured using traditional Japanese techniques. Professor Kenji Tsuji, who is in charge of the Setsuna project, said that Setsuna uses a technique called Okruiari. All the assembly process does not use any nails, screws or even glue. It is this kind of imagination that makes Toyota the most successful car manufacturer.
In addition, the wooden car also uses electric energy as power, but Toyota did not disclose the endurance and power details. Setsuna's body uses Japanese cedar wood, while the frame uses Japanese birch trees. Professor Kenji Tsuji said: "We use different woods for different stress assessments of the body and pay special attention to the size and arrangement of the different parts."
It is reported that Toyota will officially display the Setsuna wooden concept car at the Milan Design Week in Italy next month, and interested friends can keep an eye on it.
