Solid Edge is a Windows-based mechanical part and assembly design solid model system from EDS, including five basic design environments: part design, assembly design, sheet metal design, weldment design and engineering drawings. In the assembly design environment, SolidEdge can complete large, complex assembly designs with many parts and subassemblies. The assembly environment includes commands to assemble parts together using natural assembly techniques (shown in Figure 1).
